Why Does It Always Rain On Me?
Is it because I lied when I was seventeen?
So, you may not know this but it rained in Houston on Tuesday. It started late Monday night and didn’t stop until Delton’s school was cancelled. Hooray for him, hang time with Daddy.

So, we went to “work” together and he hung out with his Dodi while I took care of a few things. I tried to pick him up before he had lunch so that he could eat lunch at home and then take a nap thus allowing me another hour to do work from home. I think you know how that went.

He was passed out in the back seat before we got out of the grandparents’ neighborhood but it wasn’t to be anyway since we got about halfway home and the freeway was shut down from being covered with water. We plodded through traffic for about 30 minutes and then managed to squeak by onto the toll road, which very surprisingly was not being utilized by very many people.

To complete that captivating story, we made it home and hung out for a good portion of the afternoon. I made some videos of what all we did but you know how it is. He got bored and so we loaded up and went on the bike for a ride to try and find something to entertain. It had of course stopped raining by then but was SO muggy. Hence the need for my rarely used cycling jersey and water pack. I didn’t account for how much fun Delton would think it was to drink from the camelbak while I drove. You know, since he rides in front of me.
I’m too tired to post the videos and the Rockets game is over. They Won. Without Jerk Mac. I couldn’t be more pleased with that result. Beat LA.
The Luckiest

I don’t get many things right the first time
In fact, I am told that a lot
Now I know all the wrong turns, the stumbles and falls
Brought me here
And where was I before the day
That I first saw your lovely face?
Now I see it everyday
And I know
That I am
I am
I am
The luckiest
What if I’d been born fifty years before you
In a house on a street where you lived?
Maybe I’d be outside as you passed on your bike
Would I know?
And in a white sea of eyes
I see one pair that I recognize
And I know
That I am
I am
I am
The luckiest
I love you more than I have ever found a way to say to you
Next door there’s an old man who lived to his nineties
And one day passed away in his sleep
And his wife; she stayed for a couple of days
And passed away
I’m sorry, I know that’s a strange way to tell you that I know we belong
That I know
That I am
I am
I am
The luckiest
I was looking for a picture to post and found this one that I liked and it just made me say, “I am the luckiest”. Well that got me thinking about a particular song by Ben Folds that I really like and I thought what better way to fill up some space than let Mr. Folds sing for you. (This song is, in my opinion, really a love song to your wife but much of the sentiment is valid, especially the part about I Am The Luckiest)
Snake, I know you read this and read all the way to the bottom so I thought you would be proud to know that Delton is wearing his Templeton hat (actually mine but now his) in this photo. He loves it.
