For the 11 Jackyl fans out there, you’ll remember that song:
“I. Stand. Alone. Today! (why you feel)
Don’t ask me why I feel, I just now I feel this way:
I STAND ALONE TODAY!!! (guitar solo)

Delton came home with a note the other day that said, “Delton has stood alone a lot today.” and because I’m the dad in this relationship, I understood that to mean that Delton was off by himself, away from the other kids, and maybe the teacher thought that was strange. I was a little intrigued that they would comment on that because, hey, he’s just a baby.

Then later, it was explained to me by the mommy, the one who knows what’s going on, that it means that Delton stood up on his own, unsupported by anything. Meaning that he is able to stand on his own two feet and this is a precursor to walking.

Well that makes perfectly good sense why that would be communicated to the parents! So, am I the only one who would understand this the way I did, or are there others out there who would have interpreted the comment my way?

Also, Delton got his first cowboy hat the other day.

Delton’s teacher at school when I picked him up last week, “He’s quite the escape artist. Every time I open a door he tries to go through it”
