I told you I would come through!

with 3 comments

And since I don’t really have much creative juice that doesn’t have to do with the already worn out topics of NCAA basketball, Rockets basketball, Politics (No one wants to hear that!!!), Music, etc. And I failed miserably at documenting any Easter eggstravaganza* type activities, I am just going to initiate Photo Smorgasbord Version 1.1. Thank You Very Much!!

* Seriously, “eggstravaganza”? I am so clever sometimes it brings a tear to my eye. Just go home tonight and be thankful that you get all of this for FREE!!!!!

Delton Says Hi There!!

Delton tries out his high chair for the first time. You may not know this look but this is the “I’m getting ready to destroy something” face.

Delton hanging out with his new stuffed dog. Like everything else, it belongs in his mouth. True story: I invented a game with him last night best described as “Bite Daddy’s Foot”. Gross? or Hilarious??

Delton now prefers to sleep on his side. I’m enthralled by the fact that he can rest like that but he is unable to balance himself while sitting up. That does not compute….ERROR!  ERROR! ERROR!!!

When Delton becomes president of The New World Order in 2045, I will sell this for $100,000,000 as “Delton’s First Ever Bite of Cereal” Actually, if culture is anything then like it is now, they’ll only pay $15 for that but they will pay 30 mil for it if Delton is the New Indiana Jones or something like that. People just don’t care about it unless they are somehow entertained.

This is the best picture I could get of Delton’s new buddy, Toofers. The problem as I see it, is that Toofers is actually a real mini-dinosaur posing as a stuffed animal and doesn’t want any photographic evidence of his existence. Or it could be that Toofers is very big and Delton continually holds him right in front of his face, but that just doesn’t make sense to me!

I know Look Who’s Talking came out 20 years ago, but it would still be funny to voice over this picture with something like “I Love Everyone!” or maybe a really good relevant quote like “I know that I said we were under sniper fire coming in to our house earlier, but I misspoke.” Preferably voiced by our favorite fake dinosaur Dikembe Mutombo.

Two important notes on this picture:

1) Delton is wearing his Astros bib. Opening Day is around the corner

2) He does not object to eating in this chair. I have yet to find anything that displeases him severely. You know, aside from hunger and being tired. Hey, we really do have a lot in common!!!!

Delton’s legs have to be shoved through the leg holes for the Bumbo seat. That is entertaining but he does like sitting in it and as you’ll see in the photo album linked at the bottom, he enjoys being able to sit up and look at the dogs. They enjoy that he is immobile and they can stay out of grabbing distance.

Delton gives his doggy a goodbye kiss.

Delton says “Bon Voyage.”

For the super-observant, I did put the same two photos at the beginning and the end. Here is where I make up for that.

6 Months Old Today

with one comment

I just looked at the calendar and realized that my little boy is 6 months old today! I guess I better get him a new car on the way home. Other interesting events include: a wootoff today on woot.com; a new round of NCAA tournament basketball beginning today, some of it in my own backyard!; never underestimate the stupidity of man; never underestimate the stupidity of man II; never underestimate the stupidity of man parts III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, etc (bet you didn’t know I could count that high in roman numerals, did ya??????); I’ll never get to shake the hand of greatness JT is beginning to gain more of my admiration, does that make me a teenager again? (side note: I’m hoping being referred to as simply WP will catch on for me someday);and Rangers fans will be relieved to know that they don’t have to botch this pronunciation anymore

Since some of you may not click all those links, this is the strangest thing I’ve read in a while:

A 36-year-old man attempted to hang himself in a closet in January, but his girlfriend discovered him in time and pulled him down, but that just angered the man, who then fought with the girlfriend. A passer-by stepped in to help the woman, and in the process applied a wrestling hold to the suicidal man’s carotid artery, inadvertently killing him (San Diego, Calif.) (Irrelevant fact: The deceased’s last name was Kevorkian.) [KNSD-TV (San Diego), 2-1-08]

Seriously, I have read that three times today and I have so many questions. Kevorkian, really? Who is this passerby? How did that really happen? Was the whole thing drug or alchol infused? I need to know!!!!

I also forgot the other day to include the second part of my movie rant:

So, I’m watching “Dan in Real Life” the other day and there is the obligatory family scene of a touch football game in the backyard where protagonist A gets his opportunity to tackle protagonist B and possibly plant one on her. What I want to know is, can anyone actually say these things happen for real in their family? Is there anyone out there in the ether who actually plays a touch football game when their families get together while the matriarch and patriarch watch lovingly from the front porch whilst sipping hot beverages? Does anyone ever get to watch as the couple who you’re hoping to get together collide in a tackle/awkward near-kiss moment? Does anyone really ever have family talent shows? Does anyone play scattergories with their entire families?

I’m convinced this stuff only happens in the movies and I will believe I am right until someone proves me wrong. Comment on That!!

My apologies for the lack of pictures the last couple of days. If everyone behaves I might just make up for it tomorrow.

To be continued……
